Khal Shariff: Student Success Story

Khal is honoured to have had University of Winnipeg profile him on their site this summer. He loves U of W and he returns briefly as an instructor to teach two courses this fall:

Sisler students parlay class into NASA gig

Sisler High School could soon be nicknamed Cape Canaveral North if student Daniel Cammarata has his way.

Cammarata, a Grade 11 student at Sisler, is enrolled in the school’s information communication and technology program and game design class.


Astronauts 'N' Arithmetic

What do math, robotics and space have in common with modern gaming technology? A lot, say the members of Project Whitecard, one of the start ups in the Eureka Project Smartpark’s business incubator program here on Fort Garry campus. The small business recently won a large contract from the Canadian Space Agency to develop an out-of-this-world new product to teach math in 60,000 elementary and high school classrooms across Canada. Project Whitecard are specialists in the field of “serious gaming”.


Canada Looks to Virginia for M&S Partnership
