A small workshop with a big respect for good machines
Astromech Home Robotics is owned and run by Carolyn Ade Groat in Prospect Park, New Jersey.
Started at a kitchen table, now a full repair bench
Carolyn spent more than a decade in consumer electronics repair before noticing how many neighbors were throwing out robot vacuums that only needed a new battery or a cleaned sensor. She began fixing them for friends, then friends of friends — and Astromech Home Robotics was born.
The name comes from the idea of a dependable mechanic for household robots: someone who knows the machines inside out and keeps them going for years. Today we also help families set up smart homes and Wi-Fi networks, because those robots are only as good as the connection they rely on.
We're a local business. When you call, you speak with someone who works at the bench, not a call center.
What we stand for
Honest repairs
We explain the problem, show you the worn part and give you a straight answer on whether repair is worthwhile.
Less e-waste
Every repaired robot is one less device in a landfill. Batteries and electronics are recycled through certified NJ partners.
Privacy respected
Robots map your home. We wipe nothing without asking, view nothing we don't need, and never keep your credentials.
